Instead of attempting to be productive, find your higher purpose.
I sometimes feel hopeless when I see my to-do list. We have so much that needs to be done each day that feels pointless. But we continue doing it because it extends our lives a little bit.
The issue is that productivity devoid of a greater goal is merely busy work.
I initially came across productivity gurus when I failed a crucial college course for my degree. Planners? deep labor? Pomodoros? At the moment, it appeared to be manna from heaven.
I followed their advise, which helped me change my life.
However, I felt empty as the semester came to a conclusion and I was left with the lengthy summer. I sat around doing nothing for days.
