I have a strong suspicion that there are now only two types of coffee shops as I navigate through Google Maps. One is this corporate, modernist, minimalist void-in-a-box that sells you mediocre lattes at a price that's too high, and when you sum up every aspect of the experience, you realize that you really just came for the outlets for charging devices and a space to work rather than the actual product. The other one substitutes rounded couch circles for sharp-cornered tables in an effort to provide a cozy, artisanal experience with nuanced coffee. Still too expensive, but at least they give a damn! However, if you ever get the confidence to don a nice outfit and venture outside for a drink
