Two benefits of The Outer Worlds over Starfield
Even while Obsidian's 2019 original is still one of my favorites, the release of Starfield crushed my personal enthusiasm for The Outer Worlds 2. Both titles largely draw on the design principles of previous first-person open world RPGs produced by each developer, and Bethesda's upcoming game is no exception. Since Microsoft now also owns both development companies, there is only so much room in their portfolio for space games that include killing things and looting.
There is still time before The Outer Worlds 2 launches, so I can work on being excited once more, but man. Bethesda really ran far deeper with some of the same underlying ideas.
