I have a surplus of books. Many, many books. They line bookcases that take up a full wall in our study, along with those belonging to my wife. Another set of shelves, primarily filled with my books, is in our guest room. In addition, there are two foot and a half tall heaps of recent purchases that I intend to read one day on my dresser.

I keep a lot of them because they have special meaning to me. Among these, some of my favorites are those that Desmond Toups, who passed away in an accident last month at the age of 61, suggested to me.
