Industry-wide culture is nothing new. The idea that data is "the new oil" is untrue as well. We're beginning a new chapter of it through access to and the monetization of words in light of the popularity of AI chatbots and huge language models.
Another kind of data commodity that is mined for profit is words. One issue this raises is the commodification of words without the users' or their platforms' agreement. What does this signify for the industry of large language models (LLM) then?
