When you meditate, you're doing it right if you find yourself thinking a lot.
Just as it is normal and natural for you to think a lot throughout the day, it is normal and natural that you have a lot of thoughts when you sit down to meditate.
Many individuals continue to think that for meditation to be effective, thinking must be stopped. That is untrue.
The purpose of meditation is not to force your mind to be silent, but to become sufficiently detached from it so that it can process and let go of some of the negative thought and emotion patterns, as well as to develop a more adaptable state of consciousness.
A busy mind may actually be an indication of a highly profound state of mind for a number of reasons.
