5 Things I Learned about Productivity from Solitaire Tournaments
When Facebook added Bejeweled Blitz for a while in the late aughts, I was hooked. Games that came pre-installed on computers were a big hit with me. I loved the 3-D pinball on Windows, and learned to play Hearts simply because it was available to me.
In 2016, about a year into owning my own business, I noticed the Microsoft Solitaire suite on my computer. As someone who needs variety and challenge to stay interested, I spent my downtime teaching myself how to play every kind of Solitaire it offered.
I took to Spider first, having already known Klondike. I learned FreeCell last, because my spatial reasoning is… subpar is putting it mildly. But since then, I’ve taken part in their tournaments (now on my phone, like most things are) often enough to win, or at least be top 3, more often than I’m not.
