Nowhere I Would Rather
In front of one of my favorite cafés in Osaka, Japan, where I currently reside, I'm sitting on a seat in the rain. I'm under a plant and listening to some old Gus Dapperton.
It would be wonderful to be somewhere else right now, perhaps Cappadocia. However, there is really nowhere I'd rather be than sitting here on a Sunday afternoon, listening to music, reading from my journal, and taking in the world around me.
The finish line, the clothes, the girl or guy, the looks, the money, whatever - we want what we don't have. Why? We need to be distracted from the present because it is rarely satisfying, so we believe it will fill the vacuum and satisfy us.
