Making it unlawful to drive on roads to have abortions is a sign of desperation.
Anti-abortionists are so irrationally angry that some of them are pressuring cities and counties — at least 50 in Texas alone — to vote to charge those who send women to states with permissive abortion laws.
Due to the six-week abortion restriction in that state, any resident may file a lawsuit against a person or group that supports a woman. Even in states with strong bans on abortion, a group called Sanctuary City for the Unborn has been advocating for local limits.
The statutes would probably be deemed illegal because they violate the "right to travel" theory of the 14th Amendment, which permits persons to freely move between states even if they are accused of breaking the law. Idaho is being sued because of a
