Writing for Generation Z: What works?
The generation born after Millennials is known as Generation Z. On the precise dividing line between the two generations, there is disagreement, though. Some claim to be people who were born in the late 1990s or the early 2000s. People born between 1997 and 2012 are categorized as belonging to it by the Pew Research Center, and those born after December 2000 are categorized as belonging to it by MTV culture. Additionally, Gen Z will account for more than 40% of American consumers starting in 2020. One of the most misunderstood and difficult age groups to write for is this one. While older generations could usually be convinced to read anything, Gen Z is seeking authenticity in the media they consume.
More than 74% of Gen Z claim to use the internet in their spare time. A generation that was raised online speaks up for what they believe in and demands the same qualities from the content they spend time with: strength and reliability. Yes, you heard correctly. This generation, my pals, practically grew up online, so they have some expectations. They are all focused on writing material with impact.
