I was selected to be one of the Military Assistants to the Honorable John O. Marsh, Jr., Secretary of the Army, when I was still a relatively young Army Major working in the Pentagon. It was unexpected and proved to be a challenging position, but it also ended up being a career high point and a fantastic learning opportunity.
