Twenty Post-It Provocations Regarding Media
I was recently asked to kick off an unconference with graduates and students from Newmark's News Innovation and Leadership program. In addition, I was getting ready for an unconference hosted by Newsgeist, which I regretfully had to skip. I sneeze Post-its; my mind has been its own unconference as a result. Therefore, I made the decision for our event to provide 20 thought-provoking virtual Post-its, or tweets, for conversation about news and media:
The half-life of media forms is on my mind. The print of magazines is dwindling. Through examining the format, I've realized how fleeting any kind of writing can be, and maybe the same is true of a genre. The institutions of prime-time, networks, linear television, broadcast, and even cable are fading, leaving television in ruins.
