Overconsumption is slowly eradicating humanity.
In 2023, the typical person will be able to shop till they drop, have a bucket of chocolate-covered pretzels, doom-scroll on social media, and watch a complete season of a TV show all in the privacy of their own home. This is frightening because it gives you too much pleasure, and it's quite worrying what that does to your brain.
Humans were never designed to be subjected to such a high level of stimulus. We are social creatures that yearn for things like community, love, purpose, and connection. Sadly, though, because of risky marketing and pervasive deception, we have been led to believe that having money makes us happy because it allows us to purchase things that make us happy.
