Over the past few years, I've lost a lot of friends, most of whom succumbed to cancer. Therefore, my response is usually the same when individuals begin to lament their advanced age, wrinkled skin, and corduroy neck: You are living, my buddy. Enjoy the journey.

Even though I've been busy living each day as it comes, there are occasions when my fear prevents me from moving forward, as with this Ferris Wheel in Geneva, Switzerland. I was tempted to attempt it, but as I thought back to the last time I rode one at the Santa Monica Pier when my kids were smaller, I screamed for the ride to be stopped.
