When the importance of accuracy causes you to lose sight of your loved one when speaking, that is life with autism.
I enjoy talking about things with folks that do not totally agree with me.
Sure, it's fantastic when someone completely endorses your point of view. I'll experience a sense of intelligence, validation, and connection to the other person. But if I can't come up with a fresh topic, the conversation is over for me.
Truth is frequently more significant to someone with ASD than agreement or accommodation.
As long as I believe we are both striving to reach the truth during the discussion, whatever that truth may be, I have no problem with disagreeing.
I won't be offended if you correct me.
