The fourth season of the venerable series American Horror Story was published in 2011, more than ten years ago. This season, controversially dubbed "Freak Show," investigated the background of traveling circuses and human zoos in the 1950s. For those who don't know this background, "freak shows" were a type of entertainment where people who were strange or uncommon to the normal spectator would appear for the audience's conjecture and enjoyment. These aberrations ranged from mental impairments to physical illnesses and gender-based anomalies.
