The Republican Party's Best Has Been Shown to Us
In the unrequited love and unorthodox romantic drama "As Good As It Gets," starring Jack Nicholson, Melvin, a neurodivergent best-selling author, isn't exactly enjoying his best life. He lives in a world where he is fighting an ongoing battle to keep under control. Melvin is expecting things to get better then all of a sudden he realizes they might not.
He exits his therapist's office and enters a crowded waiting area. When he turns to the audience and asks, "What if this is as good as it gets?" he halts abruptly and is obviously preoccupied.
No one talks, but there is an audible whimper, and Melvin walks away.
